"When one door of happiness closes, another opens;
but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us."

This is a quote of Helen Keller. It is on a candle holder in my house. I look at it often. For some reason when I read it today, it rooted itself in my head...How often do we live in the past...holding onto memories & emotions that do not allow us to live in the present? Don't get me wrong, I cherish tons of memories of my past, however, I cannot keep looking in the rear view mirror at the circumstances I cannot explain nor understand. I think this applies not only "happiness" doors...we also focus our attention on times that caused us much pain...My best days are ahead of me...as are yours...So, I am purposing to look for my opened door(s) of happiness...I am determined to find them...I know you'll find yours too!

I can NOT believe this...about two months ago I had dinner in Tulsa with a friend [name withheld to protect the innocent]. After dinner we walked around the mall for a bit...we wandered into this bookstore and I picked up a quotation book. (to back up a bit...I had had a rough week and was venting some)...I opened it to a page where I saw this quote. I pulled out my trusty camera and took a picture of it. I was going to blog about it but haven't done it yet. How amazing is that!!

Great post! This is so true, we have always got to be on the look out for the open door or window.

Hope you're having a great day!
