So...Sunday (after the sweet 16 party---I updated the post with pictures---check it out) Sara and I met Lil Man's mom and grandparents since his visit was over...

Where I live we do not have one of these:

But there is one not far from where we met up with the fam...I have been craving a stinkin blizzard since the summer commercial showing a girl scout thin mint cookie blizzard...ok, evil people...don't advertise in an area where the closest DQ is almost an hour away...

They were packed too...only like 3 employees, but shortly after we arrived someone opened the gates and the line practically went out the door...people in front of us were starting to bail...wimps...Sara and I stood our ground...we were not going to be intimidated by the mom and grandma with 54 kids ordering ice cream...we did not come all this way to just turn around and go home...no sir...we will not be shaken...or stirred...

Almost 30 minutes later we emerged from that small town DQ victorious! It was a hard decision as to what type of blizzard to get...I decided upon the strawberry cheesequake (the employee wrote cheesequack...that made me laugh).
I hold my trophy with pride:

As does Sara:

We had to head back home...

Only to enjoy the heavenly blizzard along the way...

Oh that looks so yummy. We have a DQ around the corner from us but I honestly don't go there so often. Maybe that's a good thing for me. :-) But yours makes me want to go.

The minute I saw the DQ sign I thought.....mmmm, cheese quake blizzard. We don't have DQ's but my they have them where my inlaws live. Last summer I slugged back a few. When I got home I looked up the weight watchers points on the small Cheese quake. I was horrified to discover it was almost my entire days worth of points. Still darn good!

Mmmm how much do I love DQ...I love those blizzards too, and yes, straight to the derriere, but I still say Oh-yeah-er. LOL.
