What a fun day! We cooked out, played American Idol on the Wii, hunted eggs...what else could you ask for? here are some pics from the Idol contestants:

Jenn and Lil Man tearing it up...

Joey singing How to Save a Life...

Sara thinks she is sooooooooo cool...just because she got platinum on My Heart will Go On...

and here I go with a wonderful rendition of Black Velvet...

It was so fun! Everyone sang everyone's songs...It totally cracked me up...I do have to add that Simon did say that I was a natural talent...

****UPDATE**** Ready to hear a miracle...no joke...My car was going to cost $2400 at the shop...then they call me and couldn't fix it...they didn't have me pay ANYTHING and I kept all of the parts...So my friend's husband was able to fix it for $200!!!!! Claiming does work!!!

Ok...well, sort of...ok, actually overall...not so much...

Good: Sun shining, toured the capitol with Senator Aldridge with my class, free lunch, off at 3ish

Bad: check engine light came on, took my car to the shop, costing mucho deniro---not the Robert kind, the cash kind---I would show you a pic of my car, but it's at the shop...soaking up parts and labor expenses...

I know things break...need maintenance...etc...but seriously...in January I replaced my whole sewer...well, I didn't but someone did for me...and now this...I am claiming it now...no more outrageous expenditures for 2008!!! I've had my fill!

Happy Spring Everyone!

Ok, so this weekend I was watching my nephew Lil Man...you'll be hearing a lot about him I'm sure...

I put in Lion King for us to watch as we got ready for bed...I'm pretty sure he had seen it before, but I guess he's seeing it through new eyes...he was so enthralled with it! That is all he talked about...we event went to see Horton the next day and even in the theater he kept asking if he could watch the lion show again..."the one where the bad lion gets hit in the face and the fire is everywhere."
For me, seeing the "Lion Show" again after several years kinda made me laugh...I had always enjoyed it but I forgot about the final fight scene where Scar and Simba start using all these slowed down matrix-y moves...who knew that all of the slow motion fight scenes we see now originated when Simba took back control of the pride land...
Watch it again...you'll see...

is only available around Easter. Why is that so? The gross marshmallow Peep was only available around this time, but now there are pumpkins, Christmas trees, snowmen, hearts and probably a festive flag or something for the summer...I say the following candy needs to be made to be a staple for all holidays! Who is with me?

The Mini Eggs: solid milk chocolate with a crisp sugar shell. I know that is what the bag says, because I'm reading it right now as I have a few...

The Cadbury Creme Egg: That says it all...

Robin Eggs-Mini or Regular: All the girls know about getting the blue ones and making lipstick out of it...the one downfall is getting the one without the malted middle...

Could it be possible that we see a Cadbury Creme pumpkin? I'll even settle for a turkey egg...

So, here I am...entering the blogging world...I have friends who blog...I read blogs...so, why not? I suppose I will have to be more aware of the happenings to and around me daily...For the experienced blogger...fill me in on any hints you have :o)
